At Headwater Investments, Scott primarily oversees portfolio strategy, client service, compliance and client development.
Scott earned a Ph.D. from UC Davis in 1988 and was a Professor of Finance at Linfield College from 1990 to 2013, where he pursued an active and specialized research program in issues confronting endowments and foundations. At Linfield, he taught investments, money and banking, and a special course which studied financial institutions on-site in Portland, Seattle, and New York City. Scott served as Linfield College's Vice-President for Finance and Administration from 1995 to 1996 and continued to assist in the oversight of the College’s endowment during his employment. He spent the 1997-98 academic year in England at the Nottingham Business School as a Visiting Fellow of Finance.
Scott has been an active member of the McMinnville Rotary Club since 1994 and a Board of Director for First Federal Savings and Loan of McMinnville since 2000. Currently, Scott chairs the institution’s finance committee and is a Trustee of Linfield College. Scott speaks frequently to local and national groups about investments and economics. His research has been published in a variety of journals.
