Scott W. Chambers Ph.D.

Scott began his academic career by earning a Ph.D. from UC Davis before relocating to McMinnville in 1990, where he was a Professor of Finance at Linfield University. While at Linfield, he concentrated his research on investment management of endowments and foundations, presenting his findings at numerous conferences both nationally and internationally.

In 2004, Scott founded Headwater Investment Consulting, marking a shift toward providing personal financial advice to help individuals and families save for and enjoy a fulfilling retirement.  In this undertaking, he developed an asset management strategy centered on low-cost, broadly diversified portfolios.

After transitioning away from Headwater Investment Consulting in 2024, Scott returned to teaching and mentoring students. He currently teaches at both Linfield University and the University of Oregon Executive MBA program in Portland. In addition, he serves as a Director at First Federal Savings in McMinnville and as a Trustee of Linfield University.
