Thomas J. Sherwood MBA, CFP®

Managing Partner & CCO

Part 2B of Form ADV

Member of the Headwater Investment Team since November 2011.

Tommy is always looking for ways to help our clients and better our business. His primary responsibilities are as managing partner and chief compliance officer. He oversees our investment strategy and collaborates on developing firm strategy. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Linfield University in Economics and Finance and an MBA from the University of Oregon Executive MBA program.

He is our most ‘lettered’ employee earning his Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation, a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ (CRPC®) and Chartered Retirement Planning Specialist℠ (CRPS®) designation from the College of Financial Planning, and a Chartered Financial Consultant® (CHFC®) from the American College of Financial Services. He uses all this knowledge to help our clients navigate the tricky decisions surrounding retirement and estate planning.

Outside of the office, Tommy uses his financial expertise to impact his local community. He currently serves on the City of Sherwood Budget Committee. He has completed the Leadership Programs for both the Newberg and McMinnville Area Chambers of Commerce. Tommy previously served as Treasurer for the Yamhill County Cultural Coalition and the McMinnville Noon Rotary Club. He enjoys working with small businesses and start-ups as an advisor and mentor.

Tommy loves to be at home with his family. Young sons, Charlie and Henry, keep Tommy and his wife Rose plenty busy. They enjoy taking family walks, biking together, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. When not with his family or at his trading station, you can probably find Tommy on the back nine of a local golf course.
